Micro and small digital business owners are an integral part of the business landscape in any economy, who more often than not, go undetected and ignored, not by choice, but by conscious (and unconscious) design by other players, big and small. It's imperative that the business are made visible, and make themselves more visible.

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises or SMME’s have captured sizable proportion of industries of any country.
They are the pillar base for the core industries in most countries, including South Africa. 

This Marketing Basics  course can be done as a standalone or part of a 21-day Digital Entrepreneurship program. The overall aim of the programme is to provide the Micro & Small business sector of the economy an opportunity to not only survive in the tough Digital environment, but to actually thrive.

Meet the instructor

Dean van der Byl

Dean has extensive experience in a variety of business environments, ranging from Micro Finance; Credit Service Providers; Mobile Financial Services, Retail; Information Technology; Financial; Telecommunications; Government; and Banking.

In addition, he has more than 15 years of teaching and lecturing experience, from secondary education through to Masters level, in a variety of environments.

Dean has a Business Diploma from Damelin, and an MBA from UCT's Graduate School of Business. The focus of his MBA was in the fields of Strategy; Technology in Education; and Marketing.
